Writing good prompts
Get better apps with clearer descriptions.
- Name the screens. "A home screen with a list of workouts and a detail screen with a timer" works better than "a workout app".
- Describe the data. Say what each item holds, for example "each expense has an amount, a category and a date".
- Mention the look. Colors, dark mode, card layouts and fonts all help.
- Change one thing at a time. Small follow-up requests are more reliable than one huge rewrite.
- Point out bugs plainly. "The add button does nothing" is enough for the model to find and fix it.
